Omschrijving	Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are designed to collect, analyze and display spatial data to solve spatial problems. Central in this course is the ability to address geo-spatial questions with GIS in a reseach context. Students learn how to conceptualize spatial objects or phenomena, and how to collect, analyze and map spatial data. In the first part of the course students learn GIS concepts and theories, and GIS skills (software). In the second part they learn how to apply these skills and knowledge to solve a spatial problem.
