Leerdoelen  At the end of the course, the student is able to: 1. formulate a clear research question, which is feasible for the duration of the project 2. carry out research or a design project under supervision of a staff member in (Applied) Mathematics 3. form a reasoned judgment based on scientific, social and ethical aspects of own work 4. work independently in a systemic manner 5. write a mathematical text, based on information gathered from scientific articles (literature study) and from researched carried out 6. give an oral presentation on a mathematics subject to an audience that consists of staff members (Applied) Mathematics and fellow students. 

Omschrijving  The Bachelor Project is the final project (and closure) of the Bachelor's degree programme. During the project, the student carries out a research in which the knowledge and skills obtained during the 3year Bachelor programme are applied and integrated. Elements learned during the Bachelor Workgroup (WBMA050, per. 2A) are employed during the research project:  1. Finding relevant research articles (using MathSciNet, Web of Science, journals in the library and internet)  2. Studying a (applied) mathematical research article  3. Writing a mathematical text  4. The review process (students will review the texts of their peers)  5. Giving a presentation about a (applied) mathematical topic. The research is guided and supervised by two staff members in (Applied) Mathematics. At the end of the Bachelor Project, the results of the research are presented in a BSc thesis, and an oral presentation is given for an audience that consists of staff members (Applied) Mathematics and fellow students.
