The purpose of this course is to facilitate the independent writing of a research proposal suitable for an MA research or a PhD program. Students will first be introduced to the process and theory of writing a project proposal or grant application. Subsequently, students will gain practical experience in writing a grant proposal, presenting the proposal before a (mock) panel, and in critically and constructively assessing the proposals of their peers. In addition, attention will be paid to opportunities and resources for proposed PhD research projects, the innovative and valorised nature of the proposed research project, data management, ethical aspects and scientific integrity. |
