Archaeozoological Method and Theory |
Leerdoelen |
As a follow-up to Applied Archaeozoology, the goal of this module is to achieve a basic understanding of recent archaeozoological methods (stable isotopic, aDNA, biometry, GMM, 3D imaging, big data etc.) and theoretical approaches (multi-species approaches, perspectives of bio-cultural evolution, social zooarchaeology etc.) |
Omschrijving |
This module consists of a series of seminars in which recent methodological and theoretical issues are discussed. Students learn the basic historical background and principles of the increasingly common lab and informatics methods of archaeozoology. In parallel, they learn how they are applied in archaeozoological materials to contribute to debates about bio-cultural processes, and human-animal relations in different regions and chronological periods. |
