Omschrijving |
Art & Institutions focuses on the history and current developments of major museums and collections, and related art institutions such as auction houses and art fairs. From the rise of the state museum to the globalised art market, this course sheds light on the evolution of art collecting and display and recent transformations in how museums approach their audiences and societies more broadly. The course also hosts guest speakers, in-person and online, who are Dutch and international professionals in the art world. Art & Institutions aims to provide students with a comprehensive range of analytical skills to examine as art historians both museum collections and individual exhibitions.
