Leerdoelen | 1. To ask concise questions to professionals in the field that show your understanding of the Business model canvas tool, awareness of the main challenges of developing your business model; 2. To understand the five main elements of designing a business canvas model and apply it in the media industry as shown through a group presentation in week 9 of the course; 3. To collaborate in a group as shown through weekly meetings to discuss, divide and organise the group work, culminating in the group presentation in week 9; 4. To seek active support from the course lecturer during the learning labs, showing a proactive attitude by preparing before the learning labs and using the learning labs as effectively as possible (participation in learning labs); 5. To understand and critically reflect on some of the most important challenges and opportunities of starting and running a business in the media industries on the basis of the experiences of professionals from the field (in reflection on the guest lectures) 6. To design a convincing and visually attractive presentation. |

Omschrijving | This practical course provides you with one of the most popular tools for entrepreneurship and innovation: Business Model Canvas. During the course, you will develop with a group of students a business model, which you will present at the end of the course. Each week we will discuss one of the main elements of the template, which you will develop for the design of your group’s business model, proposing a specific business case in the media industries. We will also invite entrepreneurs from four different media industries to talk about their experiences and practices. You will prepare questions for these professionals each week, based on searching and researching relevant documents. |
