Omschrijving | Into the Local Lab: Language offers a practical lecture-seminar learning environment in which students will be introduced to the study of language in multilingual situations as encountered in the northern provinces of the Netherlands. The lecture portion of this module introduces students to the practice of ethno-, socio- and psycholinguistic research and methodological debates within the field. In the seminars, students will apply this knowledge through engaging in interactive discussions related to the lecture themes. The first part of the course lays the theoretical foundations for the activities in the second part. In the second part of this course, students embark on a number of fieldtrips to various multilingual locations in the northern provinces of the Netherlands, where students will conduct fieldwork on multilingual practices. The knowledge acquired from Research Methodology (LHF034B05) will thereby be put into practice. | ||||||||||||
