Omschrijving This course unit critically assesses the policy discourse of local, regional, national and European authorities, the value orientations behind policy goals and instruments and the implications of policy evaluation on management of cultural institutions. Its key question is how these developments impact on the ability of the arts to function in the public sphere. In particular, the course focuses on the interstices between local, national and international policies from a European perspective and how inter(national) cultural policy models are appropriated at regional and local levels.
