Leerdoelen	1.Students understand, are able to apply, and to reflect critically on moral theories in ethical dilemmas concerning education and orthopedagogy. 2.Students are able to reflect critically on issues of equality, diversity, rights and care in education and orthopedagogy. 3.Students can develop a solution to an ethical dilemma in education and orthopedagogy by applying moral reasoning. 4.Students can critically analyse and judge moral reasoning in education and orthopedagogy and are able to critically discuss one’s own and others’ analyses and judgments. 5.Students become familiar with the Code of Conduct (master program orthopedagogy), or familiarize themselves with moral decision making models in education (master program ethics of education).
Omschrijving	This course is part of the master programmes Orthopedagogy and Ethics of Education. The course zooms in on ethical theories and moral reasoning, with a focus on issues that are prevalent in education and youth care. These theories and issues will be addressed during the lectures. During the seminars (which will be offered separately for both master programmes), students will expand their abilities in moral reasoning; in orthopedagogy this will be supported by the professional Code of Conduct, and in Ethics of Education by a moral decision making model in education.
