Leerdoelen | At the end of the course, the student is able to: 1. Apply design and project management tools in designing a complex structured product, incl. use of open scientific and patent literature to perform state-of-art technological design 2. Select materials and technologies to formulate, engineer and manufacture the product such that all pre-defined product requirements can be satisfied 3. Make a product cost and market potential estimation and develop a concept business plan for the designed product |

Omschrijving | The course builds on the course Product Technology and covers component and process selection as part of the development sequence to produce consumer products with pre-determined product performance and cost requirements. Design methodology and project management are integral parts of the course. The aim of the course is to gain insight in the design, development (technical and managerial) and the production of structured chemical products produced in the “specialty products” industries. |
