Leerdoelen	Upon completion of the course the student is able to: 1. Understand the strategic dilemmas multinational enterprises face when it comes to dealing with social issues. 2. Summarize academic research on the strategic dilemmas multinational enterprises face when it comes to dealing with social issues. 3. Collect and qualitatively assess relevant company-specific indicators that capture patterns of internationalization and corporate social responsibility. 4. Reflect on relevant academic debates based on qualitative assessment of company-specific indicators that capture patterns of internationalization and corporate social responsibility.
Omschrijving	This course is focused on enhancing students' understanding of the strategic dilemmas multinational enterprises face when it comes to dealing with social issues. We will discuss topics such as: how expectations for CSR may vary depending on the multinational's pattern of internationalization; how multinationals try to manage the "global versus local" dilemma in their CSR efforts; and how these choices relate to their overall CSR performance.
