The year 1 as described above is for students who started the programme in 2020-2021. In 2018-2019 the programme started with the first year of a new curriculum. In 2019-2020 the second year of the new curriculum is offered en in 2020/2021 third year of this new curriculum will be offered.

The BSc Mathematics offers two tracks, General Mathematics and Probability & Statistics. The first year of these tracks is similar.

Elective group A (choose one out of three)
- Introduction to Logic is of most interest for the track General Mathematics
- Mechanics & Relativity 2 is of most interest for students interested in Applied Mathematics
- Operations Research 1 is of most interest for the track Probability & Statistics and students interested in Applied Mathematics

Elective group B (choose one out of two)
- First-year project Mathematics is of most interest for students of the BSc Mathematics
- First-year project Applied Mathematics is of most interest for students of the BSc Applied Mathematics

Mathematics & Society: Ethical and Professional Aspects is only compulsory for students who did not finish "Mathematics: history, ethics and career" or Computing Science: Ethical and Professional Issues" yet.

  • Students who choose C++ fundamentals cannot choose Imperative Programming as well and vice versa.
