Leerdoelen	Upon completion of the course the student is able to: 1. Critically review relevant academic literature on technology based entrepreneurship 2. Apply theoretical insights on entrepreneurship in real business contexts. 3. Appraise new venture creation topics and related issues, such as entrepreneurial opportunity, starting and managing new ventures and advanced theories of entrepreneurship and innovation in a technology based industry. 4. Develop attitudes towards entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial issues in new and existing firms.
Omschrijving	This course is one of the obligatory courses of Master IEM and introduces the students to research on the specific challenges and issues that entrepreneurs face when starting a new business in a technology context. The course provides insights into the basic skills required to start a new venture from a theoretical, scientific point of view. The following topics are dealt with: the entrepreneur and the opportunity, the logic of entrepreneurial process, business models and opportunity evaluation, financing a start-up, role of networks, and growth.
