Leerdoelen | During the Master's Project students learn to apply and integrate the knowledge and skills acquired during their education. The Master's Project is concluded with a Master’s Thesis report and an oral presentation towards an audience with ample expertise in the subject followed by a discussion. During the Master’s Project, experience in most of the following domains will be obtained: 1) acquiring expertise in biomedical engineering 2) analyzing problems and defining the aim 3) creating an R&D proposal 4) executing an R&D plan 5) analyzing and interpreting data 6) communicating results 7) embed the results in scientific and social context |

Omschrijving | The Master’s Project is an individual research project that is carried out under the supervision of a mentor from the Master’s Programme Biomedical Engineering. The project can be conducted at one of the research departments of the RUG or the UMCG that are affiliated with the MSc degree programme Biomedical Engineering, or at a company affiliated with biomedical engineering. It is also possible to conduct (a part of) the Master's Project abroad. 5 ECTS are awarded for preparation of the Master’s Project. The student is required to find an internship in time. During the winter symposium the intended project will be presented by the student. In case of a research project, the introduction and materials & methods will be presented at the winter symposium. In case of a design project, the analysis phase will be presented during the winter symposium. The Master’s Project itself is awarded 30 ECTS if completed satisfactory. This brings the total of ECTS to be awarded for the Master’s Project to 35. |
