Leerdoelen | At the end of the course, the student is able to: 1. Getting acquainted with policy sciences Students are able to write an independent advise with concepts from public administration, innovation management and policy sciences. 2. Personal development Students will have the skills to do project work in a group and alone. They are able to show leadership that fits their personality and the needs of the group. They have insight in their own strengths and challenges. 3. Bridging fields of knowledge They are able to understand and to handle and policy perspectives. They are able to create synergy from multiple domains. 4. Applying in social context They are able to judge their own discipline critically and in context to policy and society. They are able to find a balance between the individual interest and the group interest. They are able to act as a science adviser in an ethical way. They know how to implement innovations in a sustainable way. 5. Effective communication They are able to communicate in an effective way to target groups. They are able to evaluate their advice so that it is implementable. 6. Over all Science advising Students will be able to consider their role(s) in science advising critically. |

Omschrijving | This module will take place in two phases. 1. Theory Science and Policy 2. Group project Science and Policy In the first three weeks you will follow an intensive program in which you get acquainted with important policy concepts. After that you will train the skills to solve policy cases and to write and present a feasible science advise to governmental organisations. Most assignments will be done in groups and teams. Final grade: Exam theory after three weeks: 50% Report after seven weeks: 50% Personal portfolio: will not be graded.
