| Leerdoelen | Aim: By completing the internship a student learns to function at a professional academic level in a professional Energy and Environmental Sciences environment (consultancy, industry, government, NGO, etc). In the internship, the student is stimulated to apply methods, theory and tools from the EES curriculum. Beyond application, the work may involve implementing, tailoring, if not adaptation, of known methods and theory to suit the problem at hand. Learning outcomes: At the end of the internship the student is able to: • work in an professional Energy and Environmental Sciences environment (consultancy, industry, government, NGO, etc). • to handle complexity due to a multidisciplinary and socio-technical approach. • apply an academic (critical, analytical) Energy and Environmental Sciences approach. • is able to formulate an appropriate internship plan with a special focus on: A. explicitly considering non-technical requirements directly and clearly linked to the actual professional context. B. understanding and framing the project in an applied context including the implications for the stakeholders. • is able to communicate, during the project, intermediate results and project steps to his/her supervisors and colleagues and to propose, if needed, possible adjustment to the internship plan. •find, select and interpret the relevant information for a specific internship topic. •present and defend his/her results in English by means of a written report as well as a presentation to an academic and professional audience. •act in an ethical, scientific, professional fashion. |

| Omschrijving | Important: An internship of 20 EC is still only possible for students who started in 2019-2020 or before, in combination with a research project of 40 EC. In an internship, we can distinguish three phases: 1. Intake and development of the project 2. Execution of the project 3. Completion of the project |

| Entreevoorwaarden | To start your Internship, you should have passed all courses and electives and your Research project. And you again have to ask your tutor and the board of examiners to approve your programme proposal (see Tutor and programme approval) and you have to register for your Internship in PWWW. | ||||||||
