Uitgebreide vaknaam Research Methods in Science Education and Communication
Leerdoelen At the end of the course, the student is able to:
1) use the terminology used in research in science education and communication in describing, evaluating and designing research
2) recognize and know the opportunities and limitations of frequently used social-scientific research strategies and methods in science education and communication
3) search, read and evaluate research literature on science education and communication
4) make a design for a limited and practice-oriented research project in science education and communication
Omschrijving This course aims at providing students with some background in interpreting and conducting research in science communication and mathematics and science education. Students will be acknowledged with scientific literature en will make a research design, which may be used in a subsequent research project.

(Presence during seminars is obligatory. Incidental absence should be communicated with the lecturer.)
Toetsvorm Opdracht (AST), Verslag (R)
(Literature review report (40%), A research design (60%). Both assignments should be satisfactory (higher than 5.5). The final grade will be given if all required documents are placed in the portfolio.)
