Leerdoelen At the end of the course, the student is able to:
1. reproduce and apply knowledge about modern electronic circuits obtained from the book and in class;
2. computer simulate and construct real operating circuits composed of diodes, transistors, operational amplifiers, and logic gates;
3. able to solve electronic circuit problems;
4. able to analyze circuits in research type environment involving both computer simulations of circuits with the professional LTSpice software package (computer labs), and construction of real operating circuits (Physics labs).
Omschrijving This course treats:
- Basic electronic circuits and analysis (Kirchhoff's laws, Thévenin and Norton equivalent circuits, loading);
- AC circuits and analysis (complex impedance, capacitors, inductors, Bode diagrams, filters);
- Amplification and feedback (opamps, positive and negative feedback);
- Diodes and transistors;
- Basic digital electronics (logic gates, flip-flops).

Opmerkingen Each computer lab must be marked Pass.
Lab 0 must be marked Pass.
The grade of each of Lab 1 and Lab 2 must be 5.5 or above. The average of Lab 1 and Lab 2 accounts for 30 % of the final grade;
Final written exam together with the bonus from the homework assignments (max 1 point) accounts for 70 % of the final grade;
Completion of each one of the computer and physics labs is obligatory to be allowed to take the final/re-exam.
Physics Labs: Obligatory to be present.
Missing of the labs will prohibit the student to complete the lab and to be allowed to take the final exam and re-exam unless permission is given by the course coordinator.
Computer labs: Not obligatory to be present (it can be done at home).
