Omschrijving | The thesis process is preceded by a series of lectures and workshops in the first semester and followed by personal meetings during the second semester. The workshops outline the fundamentals of the research process, the activity of formulating research questions and various ways to approach these questions, and gather relevant data. Some additional topics covered include the use of research proposals, research ethics, thesis management and methods for adequate academic writing. During this period, students will also be assigned to thesis supervisors. Students are expected to finalise their own first research proposal and complete research design by the end of their first period. The process of further thesis writing follows at the beginning of the second semester (2a for students starting in September; 1a for students starting in February). The evaluation of the Master thesis is done by the supervisor together with a second evaluator. Main findings and implications of the thesis will have to be presented at the Graduate Research Day at the end of the second semester: for students starting in September in semester 2b; for students starting in February in semester 1b. |
