Opmerkingen

Students choose either Interfacial Engineering or Catalysis for engineers as a compulsory course in semester I a. The other option may be used as an elective in the CE specialisation.

In September and February, the Scientific Integrity Module is offered. Passing this module is a mandatory requirement to be able to start the Research or Design Project. It is therefore advisable to follow the module in the first year of the Master. The module is scheduled under the code WMME004-00 and is available for students from the MSc programmes ME and IEM.
You do not have to register in Progress for this module. Attendance results in a passing mark.

Opmerkingen

Before you may start your Design or Research Project you:
- Must have completed at least 45 ECTS of your 1st year Master's IEM programme (excluding Research Methodology).
- Need to have passed the course Research Methodology, which will be offered two times a year, at the start of each semester. This is a four week full time course so no other courses can be followed simultaneously.
- Need to have passed the Scientific Integrity Module (scheduled under WMME004-00). Scientific Integrity is offered twice a year in September and February and is available for students from the MSc programmes ME and IEM. It is advised to follow the module in the first year of the Master. You do not have to register in Progress for this module. Attendance results in a passing mark

You may decide the order in which you do the Design and Research Project.

Opmerkingen

Within the SPE track you can choose between two specialisations: Chemical Engineering (CE) or Biotechnology (BT). In the both specialisations you have to choose at least 15 ECTS in electives within that specialisation. The remaining elective can be chosen from the full list of electives or you can request permission from the board of examiners for IEM to follow an alternative elective course.

*Students may choose either Interfacial Engineering or Catalysis for Engineers as an elective in semester I a, provided this same course has not been chosen as a compulsory course.

Please note that it is not possible to schedule all elective courses without overlap. Check the schedule to confirm that it is possible to attend all activities for the chosen combination of courses.
