Leerdoelen | At the end of the course, the student is able to: 1. perform equilibrium calculations for various (multiple) reactions 2. to derive a rate equation from a proposed molecular mechanism in homogeneous (particularly bio catalysis) and heterogeneous catalysis 3. to perform numerical calculations on combined mass transfer and reaction for (heterogeneous) catalysts 4. to perform reactor engineering calculations on various chemical processes which use catalysts 5. To describe and explain the process lay-out of a number of representative bulk chemical processes |

Omschrijving | The course provides the student with (applied) knowledge on catalytic processes in the chemical industry, with an emphasis on bulk chemicals. The focus is on processes involving heterogeneous catalysts. | ||||||||||||||||||||
