Competences to be developed This module focuses on the development of the following competences, as stated in the degree profile: 1. Knowledge about the biological basis of (human) cognition 2. Knowledge about the evolution of the nervous system and the (human) brain 3. Knowledge about the most important methods of research in neuroscience. Learning objectives of the module (learning outcomes at module level) The ability to read and critically evaluate scientific literature in neuroscience. The ability to find out about the neurological underpinnings of cultural phenomena. |

This course provides basic knowledge about the biological basis of (human) cognition. Themes include: - the evolution of the human brain - methods of brain research; - chemistry and physiology of the human brain; - the organization of the human brain (regions and pathways). |
