Leerdoelen Upon completion of this course the student is able to:
- select relevant theory provided in the courses of year 1 and use this theory as a framework for studying a business case;
- write an integrated report in which the participant applies relevant theory with regard to the business case of interest;
- conduct applied research in line with the selected theory;
- give strategic recommendations for his/her own company, based on the business case study performed;
- present a report for a professional audience and defend with sound arguments;
- reflect on business case studies of fellow students and give constructive feedback;
- critically reflect on his/her own learning process and competences.
Omschrijving In the Executive MBA the application of theory towards business cases in practice is an important learning objective in the course. Each year the student writes an assignment in which the theory of each year is properly addressed on a business case that is highly relevant for the students’ employer and/or sector. In total the student writes 3 written assignments during the full EMBA program. Each assignment is presented and defended in front of a committee consisting of a mix of academics and a senior executive of the students’ company. Based on the total report the student develops propositions that will be defended.
