Upon completion of the course the students are able to: - apply insights from different academic disciplines on problems related to energy transition in the North Sea region; - explain and discuss various dilemmas and policy options related to energy transition in this region; - reflect on the complex dilemmas in energy transition in this region using the complementary insights form the various disciplines. |

In this course the student will learn how to analyze energy challenges by using insights from various academic disciplines (natural science, law, economics, psychology, spatial and political sciences). In three weeks of time we will discuss the physical characteristics of energy resources, the regulatory and legal framework, the economics of electricity markets, the policies to foster a sustainable energy behaviour, the social dynamics in a spatial context and the political structures, actors and processes. The insights learned from this course will be useful to conduct the research in the course Energy Research Project. |
