Leerdoelen After successfully completing this course, students will be able to
-understand how sustainability can be monitored via knowledge infrastructures
-distinguish between paradigms of science-society relations that shape the authority of science
-recognize the central role of technology in knowing about the environment
-apply a range of analysis skills from Science and Technology Studies to specific cases of monitoring sustainability
Omschrijving The aim of this course is to probe the question: Are we making progress towards sustainability? And to ask how we could possibly know the answer to this question. These complex questions are essential, if we are to contribute to addressing major societal challenges like the SDGs. The course will explore the interplay between environmental issues and the crucial role of science in addressing them.
