As an ambassador you gain valuable experience during the training program that consists of workshops on the topics:
- how to present yourself- how to network effectively- the importance of contacts in an international working environment
And a company visit.
After your training you will be one of the fifteen ambassadors for the university, know your way around and you will know how to channel student questions.
At the end of the program you will receive an official certificate of participation from the Rector Magnificus during the festive summer ceremony in the academy building.
From this moment you are an active contact person for international prospective students who may ask you varied questions about issues regarding study programs, accommodation, student/ study associations, Groningen and what more!
Also this program gives you the unique opportunity to connect with existing UG alumni networks all over the world or even set up your own and initiate activities. The alumni relations department supports you in this.
So do you want to develop yourself into a full-fledged ambassador, gain useful experience, connect with a network of over 75 (former) International Alumni Ambassadors and stay actively involved with the University of Groningen?

“The International Alumni Ambassadors program provided me with new connections to highly ambitious students and closer relations to the university and its staff members. Also my blog posts are visible on the UG’s website and thus visible for employers. I found the workshops useful for my future career and they gave me insights into the marketing strategies of the university”.
