Contemplation room at UB City Centre opens

18 January 2019

From 18 January 2019 on, students and staff can use a contemplation room on the first floor of the University of Groningen Library City Centre. The room is designed to withdraw from stress for a moment of contemplation or meditation.

  • Reflection room: room 0142; 1st floor, twice right

No religious nature

The interior of the contemplation room is sober, without decorations or inscriptions and it is of non-religious nature. Several people can use the room at the same time. Visitors may not claim or appropriate the room through their behaviour. Own items may be used, but need to be taken along afterwards.

The contemplation room is installed for a pilot period of 7 months through July 2019. To gain insight into the utilization of the contemplation room, we ask visitors to indicate anonymously the frequency of their visits to the room.

There are also contemplation rooms available at Linnaeusborg, at the University College, the Duisenberg Building and at the UMCG.
