16 October 2018

The panel, chaired by Prof. Morten Broberg of the University of Copenhagen will spend 10 days in Portugal this month, conducting meetings with researchers and heads of all the legal research institutes and faculties in the Country. 23 research centres and institutes will be assessed all in all. The final report of the panel will provide a well-documented insight into the current state of legal research in the country.

Among the members are renowned researchers from a handful of law schools around Europe, from Cambridge and Deusto to IE (Madrid) and the EUI (Florence). Prof. Kochenov serves as an ambassador of Groningen’s research excellence in law, in particular in EU law.

FTC invitation is the second major research and funding management project Prof. Kochenov takes part in this year, as he sat, upon the invitation of the President of the European Research Council (and again as the only University of Groningen representative), on the SH2 panel of the ERC, awarding ERC Advanced grants. The panel of world-leading scholars distributed more than 25 millions Euros of funding to lawyers and social scientists from Europe and Israel at the peak of their career.
