Sociology labeled as Top Degree Programme

Sociology is one 18 degree programmes at the University of Groningen which are labeled as Top Degree Programmes in the latest edition of the Keuzegids Masters. The University of Groningen takes an overall first place among the nine classic universities with a total score of 63.5 points and is the third Master's university in the Netherlands if the technical universities are included.

18 Top Degree Programmes
The Keuzegids Masters2018 includes descriptions of all Master’s degree programmes officially registered in the Netherlands. Most of the programmes are also awarded points to express quality. Some degree programmes are so good, scoring 76 points or more, that the editors award them the label of Top Degree Programme. This label has been awarded to 157 Master’s degree programmes nationally, including 18 University of Groningen programmes. The UG Top Master’s Degree Programmes are: Archaeology (Research Master), Astronomy, Behavioural and Cognitive Neurosciences (Research Master), Chemical Engineering, Criminal Law and Criminology, Ecology and Evolution, European Studies, Philosophy, International Law and the Law of International Organizations, Arts and Culture, Marketing, Legal Research (Research Master), Mathematics, Nanoscience, American Studies, Economics and Business (Research Master), Sociology and Spatial Sciences (Research Master).

2018 Higher Education Guide for Master’s degree programmes
The Keuzegids offers a brief description of all Dutch Master’s degree programmes. A quality assessment is given for most programmes, based on student evaluations and the NVAO evaluation (NVAO is an accreditation organization).
