Master’s programme ‘Sustainable Entrepreneurship‘ approved by Ministry of Education as well.

28 February 2017

The Ministry of Education approved the application for the new Master’s programme ‘Sustainable Entrepreneurship’.

‘The Master College is one of the three most important pillars of the Campus Fryslân, alongside the Bachelor College and the Graduate School. It is amazing that we were able to make this step towards finalising this programme’, says Dean Prof. Dr. Jouke de Vries.

Master’s programme Sustainable Entrepreneurship

The master’s program Sustainable Entrepreneurship (SE) is the first academic study in its field. Students will get to know sustainable entrepreneurship in theory and in practice, and they will develop their leadership skills.

‘I am very proud of the approval of this programme, since it’s unique in it’s kind. We’ve put our necks on the line to establish this Master in Sustainable Entrepreneurship. It consists of a beautiful programme with research driven education, in close cooperation with industry. The importance of sustainability is increasingly growing within businesses, therefore there is a wide field for our graduates,’ according to Dr. Gjalt de Jong, director of the Centre for Sustainable Entrepreneurship.

Toets Nieuwe Opleiding (TNO)

Now that the programme SE is approved by the Ministry of Education, the next step is the Test New Study Program (Toets Nieuwe Opleiding, TNO) of the Dutch Flemish Accreditation Organization (NVAO). The testing of this new master’s programme by the NVAO is based on the outcome that the programme has the training requirements on a basic quality level. Once the new master’s programme of Campus Fryslân goes through this review process, the programme can actually start. The programme is scheduled to commence in September 2018.
