Additional study places available

12 January 2016

Due to the shortage of study places, the University of Groningen Library City Centre is only accessible for students and staff of the University of Groningen during the exam periods. Students of the Hanze cannot access the library building during this time.

Currently, this measure applies for

  • Monday, 11 through Sunday, 24 January 2016
  • Please note: outside this period the library is accessible for everyone.

Additional study places

Despite this restriction, the library building in the city centre is quickly crowded - also owing to the fact that the third floor is currently not available due to renovation works.
Here, you will find alternative locations with additional places:

Harmonie Building
There are 550 study places available at the former libraries of Arts and Law.
Opening hours:

  • Monday through Friday, 9.00 am to 9.30 pm;

Additionally, these locations are open at the weekend during the periods:

  • 16/17 and 23/24 January 2016
  • 26/27 March and 2/3 April 2016
  • each from 8.00 am to midnight.

Library Zernike

The library in the Duisenberg Building offers many study places. In January, the library offers extended opening hours:

  • Monday through Thursday from 8.30 am to 8.00 pm;
  • Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.

Bernoulliborg
