Globalisation Studies Groningen (GSG) and the Centre for East Asian Studies Groningen (CEASG) jointly welcome the arrival of 5 new PhD candidates from China in early September 2014. All are fully funded by the China Scholarship Council:
Cong Duan, hosted by the Faculty of Arts, from Beijing Language and Culture University
Yiping Duan, hosted by the Faculty of Arts, from China University of Political Science and Law
Yuanyuan Ju, hosted by the Faculty of Arts, from China Agricultural University
Xingyu Yan, hosted by the Faculty of Law, from China University of Political Science and Law
Yingying Zeng, hosted by the Faculty of Law, from Peking University
GSG and CEASG play an essential role in recruiting PhD candidates for different faculties through its PhD Hub Initiative. Established in 2012, the PhD Hub has been successful in attracting the inflow of an increasing number of PhD students from China. The Hub will be expanded in the ensuring years to accommodate a rising demand of students from China and the wider East Asian region for interdisciplinary PhD training programmes. GSG and CEASG continue to attend the annual PhD Workshop in Beijing to interview and pre-select suitable PhD students for all the faculties of the university.
This year’s CSC fair will be held during 22-23 November in Beijing (
). Prof Joost Herman, Director of the GSG, and Dr Yongjun Zhao, Assistant Professor and PhD Hub Coordinator of the GSG will represent the university at the fair.
