Successful CEASG / GCI grant application with Hanban for development of Chinese Studies

07 July 2014

CEASG and the Groningen Confucius Institute have successfully applied with Hanban for a grant to develop Chinese studies at the University of Groningen.

Hanban already supports the Groningen Confucius Institute.

The grant of EUR 365 000 over 5 years, with additional support from the University, finances an appointment at CEASG and GCI for teaching and research on Chinese studies.

CEASG is an inter-faculty institute to initiate and support inter-disciplinary teaching and research on the politics, culture and economics of contemporary China, Japan, Korea and Mongolia. CEASG was launched in September 2014 by the Faculty of Arts and facilitated by the Institute for Globalisation Studies Groningen (GSG), in partnership with the Faculty for Economics and Business, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies.

Further information follows through a press release of the University of Groningen.
