GSG Annual Conference: Global Norms and Local Implementations

Tuesday 14 January 2014 Globalisation Studies Groningen will organize its annual conference with the central theme: "Global Norms and Local Implementations". From 10.45 hr onwards everybody is welcome in the Grote Vergaderzaal (Oude Boteringestraat 44).

Professors from the University of Groningen will give presentations about their current research projects linked to the central theme of this conference. Amongst the speakers are: Professor Lubbert Dijkhuizen (Microbiology), Professor Tjalling Halbertsma (East Asian Studies), Professor Frank Vanclay (Cultural Geography) and Professor Nico Bos (Global Health).

At 16.15 hr, the inaugural lecture of Professor Joost Herman (director of GSG and Professor Globalisation Studies and Humanitarian Action) will be held in the aula (Academy Building), entitled: "The Socialisation of Globalisation: the Case of Humanitarian Action".
