Successful CBT use for decentralized selection Medicine

19 March 2013

On Saturday March 16th, the first round of decentralized selection for Medicine took place. Potential candidates can take a test, which will determine if they are admissible to the Medical School. For the first time, computer-based testing facilities were used to administer these tests.

More than 900 candidates participated in the first selection day. The test consisted of two parts, a written test and a computer-based test. Both tests were spread out over the day, to make optimal use of our CBT facilities. Part of the test was administered using Nestor, and the test included several video fragments. Every participant received a pair of headphones for this test.

To reduce the risk of technical problems during the CBT, a stress test was performed a few days before the actual selection day. On the selection day, no significant problems were reported: all candidates were able to successfully complete the tests.
