Luis Lobo-Guerrero appointed Professor of History and Theory of International Relations

Dr. Luis Lobo-Guerrero (1976) will take up the post of Professor of History and Theory of International Relations on 1 April 2013. Lobo-Guerrero will concentrate in particular on the analysis of global governance, building on his previous research on risk and the collective management of uncertainty. In the Netherlands, the University of Groningen holds a unique position in the field of international relations and international organization. Groningen was the first Dutch university to offer independent Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in this field.

Dr. Luis Lobo-Guerrero studied Political Science at Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia, did a masters degree on Defence and Security Analysis at Lancaster University, UK, where he also gained his PhD in International Relations in 2008. His previous position was Reader in International Relations at Royal Holloway, University of London.
