On Friday 30 November 2012, a symposium was held in Hampshire Hotel Plaza Groningen on the occasion of the retirement of ex-KVI-Director Muhsin Harakeh and Herbert Löhner. Two hundred guests from all over the world came to Groningen for a lively meeting. They listened to various speakers highlighting the lifetime achievements of both KVI professors. Of course, many old memories were brought to life, both in the official part of the symposium as well as in the informal atmosphere.
