Workshop Publication Strategy and Open Access 2012 on April 23

29 maart 2012

On April 23th, the Library and the Graduate School organize a Workshop Publication Strategy and Open Access at the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences. This workshop aims to raise awareness of citation impact and open access.

At this moment, the Open Access phenomenon is at its starting point. It is an important development however, and sooner or later researchers will have to make decisions in the publishing process taking this development into account.

Take a look at this protest against a major publisher to see that researchers want to have more control of how and where they publish.

The University of Groningen embraces the growing trend of Open Access publishing. The university signed the Berlin Declaration and publishes a newsletter to raise awareness on Open Access.

The University Library expert on Open Access issues Esther Hoorn will introduce the audience to these topics. A hands-on session will be held in which participants can explore some of the current possibilities. When you sign up for the workshop, you will receive a list of seven questions regarding your publication habits/wishes.
