"Development & Innovation" project started
In order to better implement new technologies and insights from the field of medical genetics in general healthcare, the Department of Genetics has set up a new project called "Development & Innovation", as of January 1st 2012. The project will include our Genome Analysis Facility, Team 3 (innovation & research) of the genome diagnostics section, and the oncogenetics research group, and possibly others in the future. The project will be headed by Dr. Rolf Sijmons, whose main task will be to work together with other healthcare professionals, and possibly with some commercial partners, to search for new opportunities to implement our research findings and make use of our state-of-the-art facilities. Mirjam de Jong will replace Dr. Sijmons as leader of the oncogenetics team in the clinical genetics section.
