Maarten Bosker and Harry Garretsen win Martin Beckmann Prize 2011

FEB researchers Maarten Bosker and Harry Garretsen won the Martin Beckman Prize for the best paper published in 2010 in 'Papers in Regional Science'. This is the official journal of the Regional Science Association International(RSAI). As the winner of the prize they will receive a plaque and a small cash prize, handed over at one of the next supraregional meetings of RSAI.

The jury consisting of Masahisa Fujita, Jean Paelinck, John Quigley and Jouke van Dijk chose Bosker and Garretsen's article ‘Trade costs in empirical New Economic Geography’ published in Papers in Regional Science, Issue 3 (p485-511) as the winning paper, together with an article about industrial agglomeration effects in Japan, by three Japanese authors.
