Taiwan Ranking

The Taiwan Ranking is annually published by the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) and consists of a Top 500 of universities worldwide. The ranking specifically focuses on current research, assessing universities’ scientific paper performance based on three criteria: research productivity (accounting for 20% of the score), research impact (30%) and research excellence (50%).

High Impact Universities

The University of Groningen also figures in the Top 100 (91st place) of a new ranking, published by High Impact Universities, which also focuses on research performance rather than traditional indicators such as peer reviews. This ranking is a pilot study to benchmark the research output of the world's top universities. The initial trial involves over 1000 universities and 5000 faculties.
