The Dutch Technology Foundation STW has awarded a project of KVI and the Department of Radiotherapy of the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG) for the development of a national dosimetry standard for proton therapy. Project leader is former KVI staff member Marco Schippers. Since 2001 he is employed at the proton-therapy project of the Paul Scherrer Institut in Villigen, Switzerland, and since 2008 he is a professor by special appointment at Radiotherapy/UMCG. From the side of KVI the project is being lead by professor in Accelerator Physics Sytze Brandenburg.
