On Thursday afternoon 4 February 2010, nine lecturers from the University of Groningen compete for the title of Best Lecturer 2009. The
nominated lecturers give a short lecture lasting about seven minutes.
A jury of experts chaired by Rector Magnificus Prof. Frans Zwarts will decide who is the Best Lecturer of the year 2009. An Audience Award and a Web Award will also be presented based on votes in the hall and via internet. The winner receives EUR 7,500 and a work of art.
All faculties have nominated lecturers for this award. Dr. Marjolijn Verspoor (Applied Linguistics/TEFL) is the nominee for the Faculty of Arts.
