In 2004 the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) introduced the use of Clinical Pathways (CP) as a method of delivering care for patients undergoing cardiac surgery. In this thesis the conventional care and the clinical path were compaired in terms of health related functional status, depression and anxiety.
