KVI in VARA’s Nieuwslicht

On Wednesday 4 February AGOR and the KVI irradiation facility were highlighted in the VARA science programme Nieuwslicht in an item on the plans for a proton-therapy facility in Groningen. In this item Hans Langendijk, professor in radio therapy at the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG), elucidated the benefits of proton therapy, and head of the KVI accelerator group Sytze Brandenburg explained how protons can be produced, accelerated and transported at an accelerator facility.
