Celebration of 40th anniversary KVI and 60th anniversary Muhsin Harakeh
On 12 December the 40th anniversary of the KVI and the 60th anniversary of KVI Director Muhsin Harakeh were celebrated with a symposium at the Academy Building of the University of Groningen . Many guests from all over the world came to Groningen for the purpose of this combined celebration. During the day many memories were dredged up, both in the presentations of the speakers and among the guests. At the end of the symposium emeritus professor Adriaan van der Woude presented his book "40 jaar Kernfysisch Versneller Instituut".
Muhsin Harakeh’s term as KVI Director will end on 31 December of this year. In January he will go for a sabbatical after which he will return to the KVI to continue his scientific work.
