Kamerlingh Onnes prize for KVI PhD student

The Kamerlingh Onnes prize 2006-2007, for the best cum laude student in physics at the University of Groningen in the academic year 2006-2007, has been awarded to Duurt Johan van der Hoek, who is presently working on his PhD research in the KVI TRIµP group. He did his undergraduate research on neutrino masses in a left-right symmetric model at the Centre for Theoretical Physics (CTN) of the University of Groningen , under supervision of professor Mees de Roo. On 29 May 2008 Duurt Johan will give the Kamerlingh Onnes Colloquium with the title ‘Searching for Left-Right Symmetry in Physics’. On this occasion the prize will be given.
