Van Swinderen prize for KVI PhD graduate

The Van Swinderen prize 2007 has been awarded to Dennis Bodewits, who did his PhD research in the Atomic Phyiscs group at the KVI. The Van Swinderen prize is given by the Royal Natural-Sciences Society (KNG) in Groningen for the best Dutch abstract of a thesis defended at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences or the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Groningen. Dennis Bodewits graduated on 8 June 2007 on a thesis with the title Cometary X-rays; Solar wind charge exchange in cometary atmospheres. Presently he has a position at the Solar System Exploration Division at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, USA.
