What's that sound?! - Collector's Items at the European Researchers' Night

What can zebra finches teach us about speech disorders? How does tinnitus develop? And what do you hear when you stand in the middle of a city? For centuries, scientists have been fascinated by hearing and sound. During this special edition of Collector’s Items, we will look for the science behind sound.

In the Collector’s Items series, Studium Generale, in collaboration with the University Museum, provides an insight into the more than one hundred thousand objects that are kept in the museum’s depot.

Especially for the European Researchers' Night, experts in sound perception Tassos Sarampalis and Kirsten van den Bosch put a number of these objects in the spotlight. Special objects with a connection between sound research, past and present. Come visit their mini museum, look and listen!
