University quiz and sports event

- Wednesday 12 June 2019
- 1 p.m. (sports) and 7.30 p.m. (quiz night)
- ACLO Sports Centre and Academy Building
For the first time in 405 years, the University is organizing a combined sports and quiz event – a meeting of muscles and brains between the best teams in each faculty and service unit!
This is organized as follows: in the afternoon, the teams will compete against each other at the Sports Centre in a not-so-serious ‘sports’ competition.
Imagine, for example, a dragon boat race in the pond in front of the Duisenberg Building; a ‘loop-the-loop’ cycling competition; a beer bike race…
Later on that evening, the historical and contemporary knowledge of each team will tested in a smashing ‘University challenge’ in the Academy Building. After a complex scoring method, the best team will be revealed, after which all participants will raise their glasses together.
Teams: muscles & brains
Each team may consist of a maximum of 15 participants, of course ‘all inclusive’: all genders, students, staff members, Dutch, international...
10 participants per team must comprise the sports team in the afternoon, and the other five participants can rack their brains that evening.
Note: a team can also consist of a minimum of 10 persons, active in both the afternoon and evening!
Finale
After the University challenge, the sports and brains teams will reunite in the Bruinszaal of the Academy Building for drinks and snacks. When the jury finally has come to a decision, the ultimate winning team will be announced, and more glasses raised!
